Hot Tips for Great Summer Hair

Flat ironing isn’t just for curly or coarse hair, a flat iron can help add tons of shine and polish to fine hair, too. But it’s important to remember a few key rules when flat ironing fine hair. First, instead of taking large horizontal sections, take smaller diagonal-back sections. This prevents the hair underneath from getting pinched in the flat iron and allows the hair to fall at its natural fall position. Next, take your comb in the opposite hand with the teeth facing up and take the section in your comb. As your flat iron comes in, start moving the iron before the plates are even closed all the way. Allow the comb to lead your hand and move slowly to create a nice bevel. For fine hair, make sure the hand holding the flat iron is far away from the plates for less compression. The thicker or coarser the hair, the closer you should hold your hand to the plates. Make sure you move slowly down the section; the rate of speed will determine the success of your flat ironing skills, also keep in mind that you have the proper heat setting for your type of hair
